4 layers on top of the workplace
I was recently invited to join a panel on the subject of workplace change sponsored by the Society for Marketing Professional Services. My remarks included a reference to an idea I've been developing around new perspectives on workplace design.
I spoke of what I'm calling "4 layers on top of the workplace." This is a test of concepts from technology platform design to use in discussions with clients about their new workplace project. It is intended to steer around the conventional lexicon of the open/closed debates that seem to be raging these days and, instead, illuminate the factors in a well-designed workplace that can nurture and support high performance organizations.
Here's a draft of my thinking, and an application of these concepts on a current project.
